NYC rewind

Ok, the news and updates are piling up fast so let me quickly get you up to speed.

My mom came to visit me in NYC Friday. Saturday we went on a shopping chevauchee. We visited Union Square - a wonderful open air market a bit like the Albert Cuyp in Amsterdam. They sell things like bouquets of wildflowers - buttercups and blue cornflowers. We picked up a cute round green wax wall ornament with an imprint of an apple tree. We also got some delicious fresh asparagus. It was a perfect spring day.

Next we hit the Gap. They have a truly spectacular collection this Summer. I tried to justify my spending by arguing that I need nice clothes for all the weddings and bridal showers I'm attending in the coming months. (right...)

We popped into the Strand. I bought Personal History by heiress Katherine Graham. I'd been meaning to read it for sometime since it's supposedly the best autobiography published in recent years. I don't know if I agree with that assessment. I have a hard time caring much about the author. yes, rich people have problems too. I knew that. Maybe the book will get better as it goes on.

We then went back to Brooklyn, and I took Mom to dinner at an asian restaurant in honor of Mother's day. My fortune cookie told me to "Be bold when decisive action is needed." I've certainly been doing that lately...you see, on Monday I left New York. I'm presently domiciled in Ghetto Park again.

I consider this to be a temporary period of exile. I hope to return to NYC soon. If you really want to know more about what went down, please drop me a note.

I'm very sad, and I will NYC dreadfully, but I had to be bold. Under the circumstances, decisive action was most certainly needed.

So that's the biggest update. Lighter fare like my review of the new Narnia movie will follow shortly.
