Dwelling in possibility

Next week Thursday, I will come out of political retirement to volunteer on a campaign in Paris. The last time I volunteered on a political campaign was in London in 2006.

To me, this isn't just a return to my political roots, it marks the start of what I hope will be an 'interesting year.' Since I graduated college, my life has very clearly alternated between boring years and interesting years.

2004 (interesting): Graduated, traveled to the Netherlands, Germany and Sweden, interned at Dutch radio news programme
2005 (boring): Worked at Concerned Women for America
2006 (interesting): Interned in Brussels, traveled to France, campaigned in England, worked in Maastricht
2007 (boring): Worked as freelance editor in Washington
2008 (interesting): Moved to New York, moved back from New York, spent 6 weeks in Berlin, moved to Holland, got job at Rabobank
2009 (boring): Worked at Rabobank

So I can't wait to see what 2010 has in store. There's Paris. I'm scheduled to attend a 1-day course in London in May. I'm also hoping to travel to the UK again with my mom this summer. And after that we'll see. If my previous interesting years are anything to go by, the sky is the limit.
