je suis en Alsace!

hey! I just had the ultimate european union experience: traveling 5 hours to get to "my other office" down in strasbourg. the people are the same. the work is the same. computer has the same files on it. I just had to travel 5 hours instead of 2 minutes to get here.

oh well. I am in Strasbourg!!!!!!!!!!!!

The only difference is that the office is smaller and the building is even MORE confusing than the one in Brussels. i didnt think that could be possible. while on one of my coffee missions earlier I accidentally entered the "members of the parliament only" bar and was promptly expelled.

oh well.

I am actually quite happy people think its obvious that I am not an MEP. Everyone in Brussels addresses me as "madame." It's really starting to get to me. So it is reassuring to know that at least the French think I have a youthful look about me even if the Belgians don't (and who cares what Belgians think anyway?)

the coolest part of the trip down was that we had to pass through Luxembourg to get here so now I can add another "country" to my list of coutries I have been in.

I rode down with a british colleague in his...british car. yeah, with the wheel on the wrong side. it was too weird. i decided it would be better for my blood pressure if i sat in the back.

This experience just keeps getting more and more international.

I will keep you all posted.
